The same study also found that 87% of consumers agreed that they would prefer to give their business to companies that hire individuals with disabilities.
Over 75% of the survey participants have had direct experience with people with disabilities in a work environment and 91% felt their job performance was either “good” or “very good”.

Many financial incentives may be available to businesses who hire persons with disabilities:
· On-the-job training can cover 50% of the salary and fringe expenses while the applicant receives ongoing support from Foundations.
· Work Opportunity Tax Credit of up to 40% of the first $6,000 in wages during the first 12 months of employment.
· Disability Access Credit of up to $10,250 to help small business comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
· Barrier Removal Deduction of up to $15,000 annually.
Candidates receive training on interpersonal and soft skills for use in the workplace. The Foundations team mentors and provides guidance both on-site and off-site as needed to ensure success.
