Daily Living Skills Weekly Schedule

Monday:

8:30 AM-Morning Check In/ Review Schedule for the day- brief stretching exercises -coffee/tea/ bottled water provided daily

9:00 AM-Meal Planning /Shopping/Budgeting/Nutrition-- This would include discussion on healthy foods; sampling and taste testing of new foods ; review of flyers from the grocery store, looking up recipes, food facts, and developing a grocery list,  sample meal plans,  discussion on food sanitation and storage.

10AM- Shopping and Household Chores

12:00 Lunch/ Cleanup- (30 minutes)

12:30 Creative Expression- create works in our art studio) or Computer Skills – work with our guru on using the computer/tablet in meaningful ways- checking and responding to emails; looking up events /information on Community Bulletin Boards; local news and researching information on the internet; finding and using applications to increase independence/ setting up a schedule and managing a calendar.

1:30-2:45 Community Access- including  shopping,reading maps/ using a GPS for directions/ public transportation or Prevocational – Mock Interviews, Career Development, Behavioral Expectations in the work environment, preparing resume and job applications

3:15- Clean Up

3:30- Supervised Aftercare

 

Tuesday:

8:30Morning Check In: coffee/tea/ bottled water – review schedule for the day/ goal setting

9:00 Meal Preparation/ Nutrition- Breakfast- Live cooking class conducted by professionally trained chef. Students will learn simple meal preparation skills and cooking techniques with a wide variety of foods to create balanced, healthy  meals. This is a hands on class. Adaptive equipment may be used.

 OR

Household Upkeep- practice skills needed to maintain a home- laundry, cleaning, organizing closets, etc. in a “mock apartment set up” Money management

10:00 What would you Do?- Dealing with the unexpected and emergency situations; basic first aid, weather emergencies, safety in the home and community (including fire, water safety, witnessing a crime)

12- Lunch/Cleanup- Each student will bring their own meal from home. Microwave will be available for reheating foods. Refrigerator available to keep lunches cold.

12:30- 2 Creative Expression- create works in our art studio) or Computer Skills – work with our guru on using the computer/tablet in meaningful ways- checking and responding to emails; looking up events /information on Community Bulletin Boards; local news and researching information on the internet; finding and using applications to increase independence.

2-3:15 Social Relationships- learn how to manage relationships, develop friendships, discuss how to handle tricky social situations, and take a closer look at social nuances, roles, and expectations. Learn the characteristics of good relationships, and how to build a reputation of solid character.

3:30- Aftercare-supervised for anyone with transportation needs after 3PM

 

Wednesday:

8:30- Morning Check In/ Review Schedule for the day: coffee/tea/ bottled water provided daily

9:00 AM=Life Plan- in depth discussions  and review of the personal dreams and goals for each person’s life, how the choices we make are supporting goals and dreams, developing resources needed to achieve personal goals, and identifying what supports our goals and what barriers need to be overcome.  Solid emphasis on supporting

10:00-Meal Preparation- Lunch Live cooking class conducted by professionally trained chef. Students will learn simple meal preparation skills and cooking techniques. This is a hands on class. Adaptive equipment may be used

Thursday:

9:00- Healthy Living- mind, body, spirit- Explore ways to maintain optimal health- including fitness/yoga/ stress relief/ positive thinking/ managing medical conditions

10:00- Meal Preparation- Snacks Live cooking class conducted by professionally trained chef. Students will learn simple meal preparation skills and cooking techniques. This is a hands on class. Adaptive equipment may be used

12:00- Lunch/ Cleanup- (30 minutes)

12:30-2:00- Creative Expression- create works in our art studio) or Computer Skills – work with our guru on using the computer/tablet in meaningful ways- checking and responding to emails; looking up events /information on Community Bulletin Boards; local news and researching information on the internet; finding and using applications to increase independence

2:00-3:30- Life Skills and/or Pre-Vocational-

3-4:30- Supervised Aftercare

 

 

Friday:

8:30- Morning Check In: coffee/tea/ bottled water (30 min)

9:00- Social Relationships- learn how to manage relationships, develop friendships, discuss how to handle tricky social situations, and take a closer look at social nuances, roles, and expectations. Learn the characteristics of good relationships, and how to build a reputation of solid c- haracter.

10:00- Self Care

11:30-1:30 Lunch outing (each person to bring $5-$10 of personal funds-/ will patronize local restaurant)

1:30-2:45 Creative Expression- create works in our art studio) or Computer Skills – work with our guru on using the computer/tablet in meaningful ways- checking and responding to emails; looking up events /information on Community Bulletin Boards; local news and researching information on the internet; finding and using applications to increase independence

2:45- Clean Up

3-4:30 Supervised Aftercare
